The tenor from Barcelona David Alegret debuts at the Pergolesi Spontini Festival in Jesi

The Catalan tenor David Alegret will sing in the modern revival of the opera Lo frate ‘nnamorato, by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, which will be performed on the 30th September at the Pergolesi Spontini Festival in Jesi. For the singer, who is one of the Spanish light lyrical tenors making his mark on the international circuit, he will not only be debuting the role of Carlo in this little known opera, but also in this prestigious Italian festival. He will be performing alongside other soloists, accompanied by the Europa Galante ensemble and conducted by Fabio Biondi, currently one of the most respected conductors of this type of repertoire. The opera will be produced by the festival itself and directed by Willy Landin. It will be recorded on DVD and released at a later time along with other works by Pergolesi which the festival has been recording over the last two seasons. David Alegret has performed in Italy on various occasions in opera houses in cities such as Trieste (La Cenerentola, by Rossini), Palermo (Die Entführung aus dem Serail, by Mozart), Ravenna (Don Pasquale, by Donizetti, conducted by Riccardo Muti), Rome (La Cenerentola) and Turin (L’Italiana in Argel).
