David Alegret makes his debut at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro
July 2012 David Alegret, the tenor from Barcelona, will make his debut this summer at the legendary Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro in the opera Il Signor Bruschino in a new production specially for the occasion, which is the most important Rossini festival in the world. The Teatro Sotterraneo collective will direct the piece and Daniele Rustinioni will be the conductor. Performances will take place at the Teatro Rossini on the 12th, 15th, 18th and 21st August. David Alegret, who will be taking on the Rossini role of Florville for the first time, and actually in the composerīs birth place, has been developing his career by incorporating a large chunk of light-lyrical repertoire, and is a Rossini specialist. He has performed some of the most significant titles such as L’Italiana in Algeri, La Cenerentola, Il viaggio a Reims, Il Turco in Italia and Il Barbiere di Siviglia, in theatres such as the Vienna Staatsoper, the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki, the Hamburg Staatsoper, Trieste, Rome and Zurich Opera Houses, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Teatro Real in Madrid and La Monnaie in Brussels. The Catalan singer has previously sung in Italy on many occasions, the latest of these being last summer in the Pergolesi opera Lo frate 'nnamorato conducted by Fabio Biondi at the Jesi Festival
